Austrian Silver 3 Bowl Epergne Centerpiece with Cut out Hallmarked FB 1886 -1922. Austrian solid silver epergne or centerpiece with 3 shallow bowls with hallmarks. This item has a makers mark of FB with a mark for Austrian Silver. American standard silver is 925 so there has slightly less silver in this alloy. This epergne has a great Neo Classical design motif and rises 15 ¾ inches high with a 2 inch bowl atop four columns on a central cutout base with a shallow satellite lower bowl that extend from either side that are attached with screw and nut.
It has dramatic chased detailing on central post and bowls of floral motif drapes between elegant cameos atop gradient gadroon. It is an outstanding example of the silver smiths art and prized to almost any collection. I have an interesting assortment of items listed so please look at my other auctions. Inches high, 17 ¼ inches across arms, 10 1/8 inches across bottom. On my postal scale or 1434 grams. Minerva head 1886 - 1922.
No dents, no dings, satellite arms have a slight wiggle due to designed attachment, top bowl slightly out of round on bottom rim, some light scratches from gentle use and care, please see pictures. This is my hobby and I do it for fun and a little spare cash. I describe my items to the best of my abilities. Please ask questions if there is anything in particular that you need to know.
